Group therapy for women in transition

DOVER - A new psychotherapy group in Dover is available for women 18 and older. The group will focus on aspects and strategies for coping with life’s transitions and will meet weekly on Thursdays at 5:30 p.m. for 80-minute sessions. The cost is $50 per session and will begin when at least eight participants have signed up for 10-week program.

The group will be led by Sarah Avery-Leaf (Ph.D. psychology) and Sheri Flaherty (M.S.W.). Avery-Leaf is a clinical practitioner in Dover specializing in marital and divorce issues. Flaherty specializes in group work and relationship building.

The purpose of the group is to provide support and guidance to women as they work on making important life changes. The group offers opportunities to grow and develop new coping strategies in a confidential, safe environment. Group members will have the option of continuing for additional 10-week cycles if they so choose.
