Police Logs for Thu. August 25, 2005

York Police Log

Aug. 14

* Police charged three people after a motor-vehicle stop at 1 a.m. on Spur Road. Andrew Duchesne, 20, of 95 York St., was charged with criminal operating under the influence, operating a vehicle beyond license restrictions and operating a motor vehicle with visible emissions. Phillip Enright, 18, of 48 Nicole Road in York Beach, was charged with illegal possession of liquor by a minor. Jamie L. Olson, 19, of 4 Josiah Currier Lane in Cape Neddick, was charged with illegal possession of liquor by a minor. All three are scheduled to appear in York District Court on Nov. 15.

* Police responded to the York Highway Department garage on Rogers Road at 1:23 a.m. after an officer noticed the back window of a police cruiser had been smashed with a cinder block, causing $1,000 in damage. The car had been parked there at 4 p.m. when the officer went on a motorcycle patrol. Police said the matter is still under investigation.

* Francis J. Reed, 48, of 350 Pine Hill Road, was charged at home with assault, criminal mischief and criminal threatening after police responded to a complaint at the residence. Reed is scheduled to appear in York District Court on Aug. 31.

Aug. 15

* Kevin Dennis, 22, of 2186 Abbot Street in San Diego, Calif., was charged with operating with a suspended or revoked license after a motor vehicle stop at 10:43 p.m. on Church Street. Dennis is scheduled to appear in York District Court on Nov. 15.

Aug. 17

* Michael Stevens of Whitesboro, N.Y., reported that while his Dodge van had been parked overnight on Oceanside Avenue, the side rear window had been smashed, causing $250 in damage.

* A 15-year-old female juvenile from South Hadley, Mass., was charged with theft by unauthorized taking after she allegedly took a $4 bracelet from Jones Beach and Gift Shop on Railroad Avenue. The juvenile is scheduled to appear in York District Court on Oct. 25.

Aug. 18

* Cheri A. Perry, 38, of 5 E.N. Currier Lane in Cape Neddick, was charged with criminal operating under the influence after she was involved in a motor-vehicle accident on Chases Pond Road. The accident caused $8,000 in damage to her vehicle. Perry is scheduled to appear in York District Court on Nov. 15.

Aug. 19

* Stewart Maslak of Ellington, Conn., reported that his van tires had been slashed sometime during the night while the van was parked on Acorn Street. Police said they are still investigating the matter.

* Bruce Kenney, 32, of 10 Gerrish Island Lane in Kittery, was charged with criminal speed after a motor vehicle stop on Route 103. Kenney is scheduled to appear in York District Court on Nov. 15.

Aug. 20

* Lincoln Guimond, 26, of 40 University Street in Portland, was charged with illegal attachment of registration plates at the York police station on Main Street. Guimond is scheduled to appear in York District Court on Nov. 15.

* Jeffrey Nortman, 20, of 101 Bass Street in Liverpool, N.Y., was charged with operating without a license after a motor-vehicle stop on Route 1.
